2011 APOGCE Student Paper/Presentation Contest
Ladies and Gentlemen,
We are pleased to advise you that the 2011 SPE Asia Pacific Regional Student Presentation/Paper Contest will be held in conjunction with the 2011 SPE Asia Pacific Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition (APOGCE) at the Jakarta Convention Centre, Jakarta, Indonesia on 20-22 September 2011.
SPE seeks your support in encouraging student(s) to enter the contest and in sponsoring their winners travel to and from the SPE Asia Pacific Regional Student Presentation/Paper Contest. The winners of the undergraduate and postgraduate contests will be invited to present at the 2012 SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition on 7 - 10 October 2012, in San Antonio, Texas, U.S.A. The SPE Board has approved an expense allowance of up to US$3,000 for the SPE Regional Student Presentation/Paper Contest first place winner(s) to travel to the SPE International Student Presentation/Paper Contest. This is an excellent opportunity for students to meet practicing professionals and members active in the industry, for professional career development.
Please pass a copy of this package on to other University Engineering and Science Departments in your region which might have students working in the broad discipline of oil and gas engineering. This might include Departments of Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Offshore Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
Each student chapter and university may enter a maximum of two (2) students in the contest per division, and the section will select a maximum of two (2) finalists from these to participate in the contest. Each participating chapter/university must submit the number of contestants it will enter in the contest, contestants' entry forms, and abstracts of papers by 4 April 2011 to the SPE Asia Pacific Regional Student Presentation/Paper Contest Organising Chairperson:
